Who We Are
The Palmerston and District Hospital Foundation is a CRA-accredited charitable organization of volunteers and staff. The Foundation exists to support Palmerston and District Hospital through fundraising initiatives to help fund state-of-the-art equipment and research opportunities to achieve excellent patient-centred care.
Our volunteer Directors work closely with Foundation staff, residents, businesses and community groups in Palmerston and the surrounding areas of Minto, Mapleton and beyond in mutual commitment of contributing to quality health care. Bringing life skills and expertise to the Foundation, their generosity of time and financial support leads the community in its giving efforts.
The Palmerston and District Hospital Foundation support the mission and values of North Wellington Health Care.
Palmerston and District Hospital Foundation will be recognized and respected as strong partners for the perpetuation of quality rural health care.
Working with the North Wellington Health Care Corporation, its staff, and the local community, we will create a spirit of giving, goodwill, and support for our hospital. We will plan and implement events and programs to raise funds for priority projects to keep quality health care close to home.

At the time of inception of the Foundation, the Palmerston and District Hospital was very proud of its financial record of operating without a deficit. The Hospital's original Board of Governors decided to create a Foundation in order to secure the monies raised and support this fine tradition of sound fiscal management. The Palmerston and District Hospital Foundation was created in July 1988.
The Palmerston and District Hospital Foundation was incorporated on July 25, 1988, and held its first official meeting on April 5, 1989.
During the first year of its existence, the Foundation raised a total of $170, 212.

At the Palmerston and District Hospital Foundation, we strive to help keep “quality care close to home”. Our activities are focused on providing the vital equipment needed to provide excellent resources for our doctors and other health care professionals, ensuring the best possible care for our hospital community. Occasionally, the Palmerston and District Hospital Foundation gathers personal information so as to inform you of the Foundation’s activities. From time to time, the Foundation also publicly recognizes the generosity of donors. The Foundation treats this information with discretion and respect. If you wish to have your donations remain anonymous or if you would like to be removed from the Foundation’s mailing list, please contact the Foundation office.
